Karin Nasrallah · A portfolio that treats a designer’s work the way she treats interfaces

Overview

Karin needed a portfolio that could carry her own standard: clear structure, restrained visuals, and interaction that feels considered rather than decorative. We designed and built the whole site as one piece: a dark, quiet canvas, a single serif for the headlines, a Three.js horizon that sets the mood without slowing anything down, and case-study pages that let the work do the talking.

01

One word, then everything else

The hero is a starfield over a low-poly ridge with “DESIGN” set in a display serif, driven by scroll rather than a timer. It loads behind a plain fallback so the first paint is instant, and the scene fades in once the GPU is ready, so the first impression is atmosphere, never a spinner.

02

Case studies built as a system

Every project shares one card anatomy (number, category and year, a one-line hook, a paragraph, tags, and a device mockup) so six very different clients read as one body of work. The content lives in typed data files; adding a project is a new entry and a folder of images, nothing else.

Process you can actually follow

Discover, Define, Design, Validate, Deliver: a five-step timeline that lights up as you scroll, paired with a “design in motion” card that reacts to the cursor. Small interactive moments, each with an off switch under reduced-motion, and every page pre-rendered with its own metadata, Open Graph card and sitemap entry.
